There seems to be a bit of a parade of finished things around here lately. And now the latest:
and a close-up of the cable panel
Project: Shell Tank
Pattern: Shell Tank from Nature Knits
Yarn: Tahki Cotton Classic
Yardage: slightly more than 7 balls
Started: February 3, 2007
Finished: February 24, 2007
Yarn Source: Stash
Needles: 4.5 mm (US 7), and 3.75 mm (US 5)
Gauge: 5.25 stitches to the inch in stst
Modifications: I lengthened the body by about an inch. I really should have added a bit more length.
I'm not entirely sure why I chose to knit a cotton tank top in the middle of the winter. I think it has something to do with the influx of spring clothes in the stores and spring knitting patterns coming out. I plan to wear this with a pair of navy flared trousers, but they are currently buried among my spring and summer clothes.
I generally liked knitting the tank. I had some gauge issues and had to go up a needle size. There is also a ton of errata for this pattern, but it's pretty available on-line. Most of the errata is pretty straightforward, but it never hurts to have it in advance.
I'm going to try to curb the impulse to start another new project until I start the March socks on Thursday. Only problem is all of my yarn keep crying out to be knitted! Must focus on the circular sweater, must focus on the circular sweater...

You look absolutely, unbelievably, totally lust inspiringly fantastic. MUST. KNIT. NOW.

What a beautiful shell! I love that cabled panel. You did a great job. It's nice to have a fresh summery FO in the middle of winter, isn't it?

Katie-- you never fail to amaze me! The shell is lovely-- and done in 3 weeks? I LOVE the cabling up the front-- so unexpected to be diagonal. It's wonderful.

Katie, that looks stunning. Maybe you can wear it in DC in March!
