Project: January Socks
Pattern: Sort of made up as I went along, relying heavily on the wisdom of Ms. Harlot
Yarn: Oak Grove Studio Pearl Sox Yarn, colorway is L'Ingenue
Yardage: 2 Skeins or about 370 yards
Started: January 11, 2007
Finished: January 21, 2007
Yarn Source: Knit Happens
Needles: 2.5 mm (US 1.5)
Gauge: 8 stitches to the inch
Modifications: Are there such things as modifications to a pattern developed on the fly? In short summary, the socks are knitted top down on 64 stitches ( I like my socks to fit tightly). I used a double stranded cast on at the top, which seems to provide enough stretch.
I have to say, despite the annoying pooling, I love this yarn. It's stretchy and bouncy and feels great in your hands. The color saturation is excellent. An excellent way to start a year of socks!
Projects in Progress
Continues on. I finished the back over the weekend and have started my way up the front. When these pieces join the sleeves, I'll be on the home stretch. Not a great picture, but hey that's Rowan (who's almost 1)
Boringest Sweater in the World
Doesn't look like much, huh? I've finished the hem and have started up the body, but really despite the wonderful yarn (Lavold Silky Wool), it's still 15 inches of stockinette stitch over 136 stitches.
and, um, oops, I started something else.
I had this one lonely ball of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran lying around that was begging to be knit into these. I didn't swatch and I don't have an extra ball, s o will everyone start praying to the yarn gods that I don't run out? As of this photo, I had finished the first mitt and needed to cast off and knit the thumb. This was possibly the fasted thing ever and really any excuse to knit with Cashmerino Aran!
I am going to do my best to put up a finished projects list in the sidebar sometime this weekend. Advice on the matter is much appreciated!

Rowan has GROWN. What a beautiful cat! So, by the way, are your socks, Demi, the boring sweater and your mitts. You're quite a busy little knitter, aren't you? :)
Coming to visit the states any time soon? We miss you!

Rowan is just so adorable! I love fetching in that color. I have some cashmere begging to knit up in the same pattern. Hope to see you soon.

Hi- I noticed you used silky wool to make Demi. How is that yarn working out? I want to use it, but the gauge is wrong. What did you do to make it work?
